Blotter: Shreveport woman, 59, faces four drug charges

A Shreveport police officer saw someone throwing something out a window when he conducted a knock and talk at a woman's residence in the 400 block of Pete Harris Drive in Shreveport on Sunday, according to Caddo Correctional Center booking records.

The officer retrieved 15 packets of crack cocaine, 50 morphine tablets, less than an ounce of marijuana and syringes, records show.

Barbara Deloris Thomas was remained Monday in Caddo Correctional Center, where she was transferred about 1:24 a.m. The 59-year-old was booked Sunday into Shreveport City Jail on one count each of use/possession of drug paraphernalia and possession with intent to distribute Schedule I, II and III Controlled Dangerous Substances.

Thomas previously has been arrested at least nine times since 1987 on various drug, weapons and prostitution charges, according to the Caddo Correctional's online records.

Deputy clocks cycle at more than 130 mph

A motorcycle was clocked at 129 mph by a Caddo sheriff's deputy and continued for another three to four miles at speeds exceeding 130 mph after the deputy tried to stop him on state Highway 3132 about 4 p.m. Sunday, according to Caddo Correctional Center booking records.

The motorcycle caused several vehicles to leave the roadway to avoid being hit, all while a passenger was riding on the back of the bike, records show.

Joshua Whitaker, 25, of Keithville, is charged with one count each of felony aggravated flight from an officer, speeding and not having a motorcycle endorsement on his driver's license.

Woman sought on outstanding warrants

MANSFIELD -- DeSoto Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of a Mansfield woman wanted on outstanding warrants issued by 42nd Judicial District Court.

The warrants charge Bonita R. Brown, 42, with one count each of aggravated battery and second-offense DWI and numerous traffic violations. Her criminal record includes 16 arrests on theft and drug charges, traffic offenses and aggravated battery with a dangerous weapon.

Brown, whose last known address is in the 200 block of Kings Highway in Mansfield, is a black female with a medium complexion who stands 5 feet, 4 inches tall, weighs 110 to 135 pounds and has brown eyes and shoulder-length black hair.

Three teens accused of setting camp afire

MANY -- Three Sabine teens are in custody following their recent arrests in connection with fires Dec. 21 that destroyed a camp house, motor home and two travel trailers at a hunting camp near Converse.

The state fire marshal's arson investigation division has charged Cody Brown, 17, a 16-year-old male and a 16-year-old female, all of Converse, each with four counts of simple arson. The Sabine sheriff's office has charged the three with theft and criminal property damage, according to a news release issued Monday by state Fire Marshal H. Butch Browning.

Brown is being held without bond in the Sabine Detention Center; the juveniles are in Ware Detention Center in Coushatta.

The fires were set to cover a burglary at Old Camp Hunting Club, Browning said.

Daniel Campbell, hunting club president, told The Times property damage is estimated at $200,000 to $250,000.

Also lost in the fire were two utility trailers and two ATVs
