Woman Charged in DUI Crash That Killed 2 Friends During Birthday Celebration
A 23-year-old woman was charged Friday with vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence in a single car crash that killed two of her friends during a birthday celebration.
Jeanette Romero had been at a downtown Los Angeles club with four of her girlfriends on Nov. 3, 2013, celebrating the birthday of 22-year-old Ana Cuadra, according to a release from the L.A. County District Attorney’s Office.
After leaving the club, Romero was driving northbound on the 110 Freeway when she hit a curb at a turnout, struck a chain link fence and crashed into a tree, prosecutors said.
