MADD Holds Vigil For 6 Killed In Alleged DUI Wrong-Way Crash
DIAMOND BAR (CBSLA.com) — Mother’s Against Drunk Driving (MADD) and the LA County Sheriff’s Department Wednesday teamed up to hold a vigil in honor of the six people killed Sunday when an alleged wrong-way drunk driver caused a three-vehicle accident on the 60 Freeway in Fontana.
Crystal Cruz attended the vigil and said the suspect was also speeding — at times exceeding 100 mph.
At the vigil, a sheriff’s department official said the average person drives under the influence as many as 80 times before they are actually caught.
The message, he said, was clear — always have a designated driver or take a cab.
