4 charged with DWI in Eastland checkpoint
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police and officers from two other area departments made four DWI arrests overnight at a checkpoint in east Charlotte’s Eastland area.
The checkpoint was conducted from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m. in the 5700 block of Central Avenue, near Reddman Road. Joining CMPD were police from Matthews and Cornelius.
Police Sgt. David Sloan says one vehicle was confiscated as part of a DWI arrest, and there were 73 charges in all.
